January 19th was Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15th 1929 and killed on April 4 1968. He did a speech on August 28 1963. His speech was I have a dream speech. My class did a I have a dream speech too. Martin Luther King Jr. was a very important person. I know that you should not judge people by the color of their skin but the content of their character. In November the 4th grade went to the Spring Lake Aquatic Center. We had so much fun. We did exercising for some of the time and then we had free time for the rest of the time. I was in the lazy river most of the time. When we were done swimming and changing, most of us came out with our towels wrapped on our heads. It was a great time!

We have been reading some great Chris Van Allsburg books. My favorite one was The Widows Broom. The book had lots of details and I had lots of questions. One question I had was, was minna a witch because of the way she acted? My favorite part in the story was when the broom swept the dirt road. As a reader I think you should read this book too. One part of the story I did not like was when the Spivey children kicked the stones at the broom while he was sweeping the dirt roads. I think the broom was a magical broom because he played the piano, swept the dirt roads and fed the chickens. Now I love Chris Van Allsburg books.
